Fun Facts

Fuzz Coffee & Records was founded by three San Diego musicians and coffee professionals: Seancarlo Ohlin, Jonas Reichert, and Christopher Darton. Their vision was to create a place where the daily RITUAL of coffee and music could come together under one roof.

Before opening its North Park storefront, Fuzz began as a series of coffee pop-ups and an online business built around two passions: specialty coffee and vinyl records. Over time, those passions evolved into a community gathering place centered around discovery, creativity, and RITUAL.

The name “Fuzz” comes from the famous guitar effect known as a fuzz pedal. First popularized in the 1960s, it became a signature sound in rock, garage, and psychedelic music. For many musicians, plugging in and dialing in that sound is part of a creative RITUAL before a performance.

Coffee lovers and record collectors have more in common than you might think. Selecting the perfect album, placing the needle on the record, grinding fresh coffee beans, and preparing a favorite drink are all small RITUALs that encourage people to slow down and enjoy the moment.

Every visit to Fuzz tells a different story. Some guests arrive searching for a new record. Others come for a favorite drink or conversation with friends. Whatever brings you here, you’ll quickly discover that music, coffee, and RITUAL are all part of the experience.
