The design of Sleeping Beauty Castle was inspired by Neuschwanstein Castle in Bavaria, Germany.
The castle's color scheme was chosen to make it appear taller than its actual height of 77 feet.
Inside the castle, visitors can explore a walk-through diorama that tells the story of Sleeping Beauty.
Opened in 1955, it is the oldest of all the Disney castles worldwide.
A time capsule was buried in front of the castle in 1995, to be opened on Disneyland's 80th anniversary in 2035.
Originally, the castle was painted in a more muted color palette before being updated to its current vibrant hues.
There is a hidden suite inside the castle, originally intended for Walt Disney's family, but it was never completed.
