Mount Carmel Center was the site of the 1993 Waco siege, a 51-day standoff between the Branch Davidians and federal agents.
The Branch Davidians, a religious group, established their community at Mount Carmel Center in the 1930s.
The site is currently used by a small group of Branch Davidians who continue to live and worship there.
Visitors can find a memorial on the site honoring those who lost their lives during the standoff.
Despite its rural setting, Mount Carmel Center is just a short drive from downtown Waco, Texas.
