Fun Facts

Founded by Kim and Scott Flinn in 2013, inspired by their love of nature and California winemaking traditions.

The vineyard sits on the west end of Ramona Valley, where cool coastal breezes meet warm sunshine — ideal for slow, flavorful grape ripening.

The vineyard’s climate mirrors the southern Rhône region of France, home to world-famous varietals like Syrah, Grenache, and Viognier.

Over 3,000 vines were planted in 2014 across five acres, yielding their first commercial harvest just two years later in 2016.

They cultivate 12 distinct grape varietals, including the rare Negrette — a bold, fruity red seldom seen in California vineyards.

Award-Winning Wines Their 2018 Siren’s Song, a Rhône-style blend, earned Double Gold and Best of San Diego County at the 2022 Toast of the Coast Wine Competition.

The name “Mermaid Valley” reflects both the ocean breezes that shape their grapes and a whimsical connection to California’s coastal charm.

Perfect Pairings Their Late Harvest Zinfandel pairs beautifully with dark chocolate, a favorite among visitors with a sweet tooth.

They are proud members of both the Ramona Valley Vineyard Association and the San Diego County Vintners Association, helping define Ramona as a serious wine region.
