The Gum Wall began in the early 1990s when patrons of the Market Theater started sticking gum to the wall as they waited in line for shows.
In November 2015, the wall was steam cleaned for the first time in 20 years, removing over 2,350 pounds of gum.
Despite its sticky nature, the Gum Wall has become a popular backdrop for tourists and locals alike to take unique photos.
The Gum Wall is situated in Post Alley, just below Pike Place Market, one of Seattle's most famous landmarks.
The Gum Wall is often regarded as an ever-evolving piece of public art, with new gum being added daily by visitors.
