The Singing Tower houses a 60-bell carillon, making it one of the largest in North America, and it plays concerts daily.
Designed by architect Milton B. Medary, the tower is a blend of Gothic and Art Deco styles, standing 205 feet tall.
Edward W. Bok, a Pulitzer Prize-winning author, dedicated the gardens in 1929 as a sanctuary for birds and people.
The gardens are home to over 126 species of birds and a variety of rare plants, including the endangered Florida torreya tree.
The site was designated as a National Historic Landmark in 1993 due to its significance in landscape architecture and conservation.
The gardens were inspired by Edward Bok's grandmother, who advised him to 'make the world a bit better or more beautiful because you have lived in it.'
Olmsted Jr., known for his work on the National Mall and the Jefferson Memorial, designed the gardens to complement the natural Florida landscape.
